Starting school is a giant leap, but it doesn’t have to feel like a daunting one. Whether your little adventurer is ready for Preschool or preparing for Reception in 2026, our Early Years Discovery Morning is designed to give you and your child a true taste of life at Sidcot.

What to Expect

While the children dive into play and snacks, you’ll have the chance to hear about our unique approach to early years education and how we help families prepare for the milestone of starting Reception.

The Morning’s Flow:

  • Arrive & Explore: Welcome to Early Years! Children can dive straight into free play while you settle in with some delicious refreshments.
  • Inside the Classroom: This will be followed by an informal presentation on our Early Years provision and tips for preparing for Reception. Don't worry about the little ones; they’ll be happily supervised with snacks, colouring, and (weather permitting) some outdoor fun.
  • Discover the Junior School: After our 'Getting Ready for Reception' talk, we welcome you to take a guided tour through our Junior School learning spaces. View our state-of-the-art facilities designed with our Quaker values in mind. You will also be able to visit our Refectory, Swimming Pool, and any additional facilities that our Junior School pupils use, or that you are interested in exploring further.
  • Departure: Head home with a goody bag and a clear picture of your child’s future at Sidcot.

Please Note: This event is completely free to attend, but children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the morning.
