The opportunities available to students range across a huge spectrum - academic, personal, spiritual and creative, with students encouraged to follow the school’s ethos of ‘Live Adventurously’.

What Students Can Study At Our Independent Sixth Form

Sidcot Sixth Formers have the chance to choose their academic disciplines. This gives the opportunity to select specialised areas of academic interest and focus on them in a way they have never had the chance to before. Students will need to take responsibility for their learning, reading, taking notes, and carrying out research independently.

At Sidcot we offer our students a wide range of subjects at A Level, the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or BTEC.

Outside The Classroom: The Full Independent College Experience

We’re incredibly lucky at Sidcot that we’re situated in an excellent rural location with brilliant facilities for sports, arts, and environmental studies, enriching our Sixth Formers’ studying experience.

Outside of the classroom, Sixth Formers can work towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award, or take part in activities such as various sports, pottery throwing, surfing, and trips to local attractions, such as the cinema or escape rooms.

Meanwhile, Boarding adds an extra dimension to independent college life, and means students are better able to access our extracurricular activities that take place in the evenings and at weekends, while gaining more independence away from home before making the transition to university.

Sixth Formers can also wear their own clothes, giving them an extra taste of independence. See our Sixth Form uniform guidance
