Ashoka Changemaker Schools Online Gathering

Ashoka Changemaker Schools Online Gathering June 2, 2020 - To meet, connect and discuss the reimagining of education through the lens of the Covid experience

On Tuesday June 2nd, the first ever gathering of students from UK Ashoka Changemaker Schools is taking place.

This gathering was originally meant to take place face-to-face at the end of June in South Wales, but as it cannot happen in that format yet, this one is now happening online, to build on the momentum that had been created across Ashoka Changemaker Schools in the UK.

The aim of the gathering is to strengthen the ties between the Ashoka Changemaker Schools in the UK, and in light of the current Covid-Crisis, to share how this has affected our school communities and to explore together how it has affected our vision of education for the future.

Students will exchange for 2 hours online, and we will have a delegation from Sidcot of 8 students, including students from Year 8 to Year 12. Amongst them are Year 12 students James Barber, Lottie Packman and Sarah Carr will also help moderating break out groups at the event.

The event will bring together 60 students and staff from Ashoka Changemaker Schools from across the country. Amongst them are UWC Atlantic College, Liverpool Studio School, and more, including Millfields Community School, whom we had welcomed to Sidcot at last year’s Peace Festival.

Sidcot School has been recognised as an Ashoka Changemaker School in 2016. There are 15 Ashoka Changemaker Schools in the UK.
