January round-up of equestrian success

Congratulations to all Sidcot Equestrian riders who have begun the new year spectacularly, starting their campaign for Hickstead Arena Eventing qualification in May, as well as getting a head start on JWS (jumping with style) National Championship qualification which will take place in October.

The competitions have come thick and fast with the first Eventers Challenge competition taking place on the 2 January, but some training over the Christmas holidays meant horses and riders were on top form and qualified at each height.

1m- unfortunately we didn’t have a team for this height but Ava rode brilliantly for individual 2nd and qualify.

The final competition for January was another Eventers Challenge qualifier at Pontispool. Renowned for being the toughest track to try and qualify at, Sidcot still represented in the 80 and 90 classes to try and qualify second teams for the national championships.

80cm - Team 2nd (Archie, Olivia, Sylvie, Wilfie as well as Wilfie finishing in 2nd place individually! 90cm- unfortunately an error of course meant that we didn’t manage to get a placing at this height but there are more opportunities for qualifications.

The competitions continue as Sidcot Equestrian travel to Bicton Arena this weekend for the royal Windsor horse show qualification and Hickstead elite show jumping qualifiers. Congratulations to all riders for a fantastic start to the new year!
