As many of you would have enjoyed the glorious weather over the bank holiday weekend leading into half term, Sidcot Equestrian team battled the (various) motorway traffic jams to arrive at their destination. The prestigious, All England Showground, Hickstead for the NSEA Arena Eventing Championships.
The courses were set to a championship standard, but the Sidcot Equestrian riders rose to the occasion and performed brilliantly, showcasing all that they had learnt in their training sessions on the lead up to this event.
Unfortunately, we were just outside the rosettes for the 70cm, 90cm and 1m classes but a huge well done to the Sidcot Stars team, Daisy Bowles, Archie Stamp, Ava Antonsen and Nelly Lee who achieved 7th place out of 38 teams and a particular congratulations to Archie Stamp who finished 6th out of over 200 riders!
A fun weekend was had by all and I think we all certainly enjoyed a little ‘down time’ over the half term break. Sidcot Equestrian is back out and will contest for the ‘Somerset’ placing at the County Show jumping qualifier on the 20th June held at Kings Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre.
