Guy Owen (Lower Fifth) recently spent 12 days in Cadiz, Spain, windsurfing in the GB team at the Techno World Championships.
Four boys and four girls were selected by the RYA for the national team and Guy was joined by 90 sailors from around the world to race in the Junior Boys' fleet (under 15s) with about . After six days of racing from Puerto Sherry Sailing Club Guy achieved 15th place, beating last year's 48th place. He completed all 12 heats in top 20 positions and even managed 1st place in one of the races against some strong sailors from Israel, Italy and Greece.
Guy has been selected to rejoin the UK Junior Squad and is expecting to train most weekends during the winter. We look forward to hearing how Guys gets on in the Med Cup in Marseille, France next February.
