Visiting The Residents of Winscombe Hall

I am immensely proud of our Upper Fifth students, who over the last few weeks, have been visiting Winscombe Hall on a Wednesday afternoon during PASS to spend some time with the residents. Whilst for some it initially took them out of their comfort zone to speak with people they had not met before, they have now grown in confidence and enjoy spending their time chatting to the elderly men and women and engaging in interesting conversation, often about the war years. Our talented music students have played and sang each week and it is most certainly a highlight of the afternoon. We look forward to visiting again soon. The experience has been exceedingly rewarding and emulates our Quaker values. I have been truly touched by the simplicity of the occasion and how easy it is to bring a little bit of joy into people's lives.
