Over £1,500 raised for Comic Relief 2013

Red Nose Day started with a real ‘buzz’ with most of the students and staff dressed in red clothing and costumes. Notable costumes included groups such as The Incredibles, Crayola crayons and Morphsuits. During Assembly Mr Kilpatrick and Mrs Burgess kindly agreed to do something ‘funny for money’ and were treated to a feast of sheep’s eyes and worms, Bushtucker trial style! The cake sale and sweets stall was very well supported and everyone enjoyed suitably red cakes. The rest of the world beat England 1-0 in the five-a-side football match during lunchtime. Many other fundraising ventures contributed to the overall total including Mrs Smith dressing up in uniform for the day, staff accepting donations for not giving prep, white board cleaning, sponsored silence, 3-legged combinations, guessing how many sweets in the jar, the list goes on… As a result of all this, I am delighted to announce that so far we have raised well over £1,500 in the Senior School! I always feel enormously proud of our community on fundraising days, when we can have fun, make a small difference somewhere in the world and still get our work done. I’d like to say a big thank you to all the staff involved and to my out-going Charities Team who have worked so hard this year.
