Kindness in the Community Week

On the week beginning 18th May 2020, we shall be holding our Kindness in the Community week.
During that week, we will be asking all members of the Sidcot community to participate in various initiatives that will help us to make a difference to the lives of those around us. The week shall include a making day, a baking day, a charity fundraiser, a writing day and a day of reflection and celebration.

We shall be asking students to get creative by baking a cake for someone they care about, calling a relative, writing a letter, story or poem for someone who may be lonely, painting a picture to share, sewing fabric hearts to send to care homes, running errands for people.

Students will be able to access the activities and resources through the OSL page on Firefly and we would also encourage the students to come up with their own ideas. We would like to receive lots of photos throughout the Kindness in the Community week to show us what has been taking place and we will celebrate our achievements in a whole school virtual assembly on Friday 22nd May.

The charity fundraiser will take place on Wednesday 20th March. We have chosen to support a local charity in our community, Weston Hospicecare.

Weston Hospicecare provides expert end-of-life care, free of charge, to people with life-limiting illnesses. Their goal is to make sure people can live as well as they can, for as long as they can; they help them feel like family and friends again, not just patients and carers.

In order to raise the money for this wonderful cause, we will be asking all of you to run, walk or cycle 5km and donate £5 for the privilege of taking part.

Please use this link to our JustGiving page to donate

I would like to thank you in advance for all that will take place to contribute to the Kindness in the Community week.
