Cricket: Sidcot v Stonar

The first cricket match of the year proved a real success. Batting first, Sidcot amounted a strong total of 113 from their 20 overs. Myles Nichols and Henry Hawkins leading from the front with 33 retired and 25 respectively. Some superb ball striking and running between the wickets meant the runs continued to flow for Sidcot. In reply, Stonar struggled to stay with the run rate. Before long, tidy bowling spells from Oliver Painter, Will Sandiford, Eddie Binks, Jonny Coombes and James Wroath had payed dividends, restricting Stonar to just 91 runs from their 20 overs. A special mention should also go to Guy Owen for a superb first game as wicket keeper, letting through just one bye.

In summary, the game was a real success. The match was played in great spirits and fun was had by all. We look forward to playing some more fixtures later in the year.
