Academy Conference

A group of ASPIRE students in the Lower Sixth and one student in the Upper Fifth visited Wellington School for an Academy Conference entitled 'More Able and Ambitious Masterclass – Big ideas for curious minds'.

Alongside 300 other Gifted and Talented students from other schools, we took part in University style lectures delivered by Oxford Professors on a range of subjects from Epistemology, to the Science of Happiness, from The Philosophy of Love and Relationships to Shakespeare and his use of humours and appetites.

We concluded this incredibly engaging day with a big debate on the issue of "What is more important: a healthy body or a healthy mind?" James Barber represented Sidcot eloquently with his well-thought through and intellectual response. A day which was about deeper and higher thinking and being curious.
