1st XV Rugby v Clifton College 19.09.14

Sidcot 28 – Clifton 24

What a week for the Rugby Club! Victories against Clifton are a rare beast anyway but three in a week is unheard of! Nevertheless, the 1st XV continued a great week with a thrilling  win over a side who had plenty of character and fought to the last. Tries from Cam Smith, Dom Thorne and a brace from George Michael were just rewards for some fine work in defence and excellent turnover ball. Will MacArthur added all the extras but 28 points was nearly not enough as Clifton battered our line relentlessly for the final five minutes. However, the Sidcot line remained resolute and the boys were elated at the final whistle to claim the spoils by four points. This was a good start and sets the scene nicely for next week’s encounter against Rendcomb College.
