Winter Success for Sidcot Equestrian

The Equestrian Team kept themselves busy over the Christmas break, competing in RPL Show Jumping and NSEA Eventers Challenge competitions, with huge success at both shows.

Olivia B, Safia V, Charlotte S and Ella O jumped as a team round the 70cm and 80cm courses to win the class, with Olivia winning the class individually. The same team of riders then followed on from this success to finish 2nd in the 80cm class, again with Olivia taking the win individually. Sylvie F jumped round the 90cm class clear on her horse, Cupanna Girl, to take the win individually! It was a brilliant day out for Sidcot Equestrian and even better to finish the year on a high, ready to start the competition season in 2024.

Very quickly into the new year, Sidcot Equestrian was back competing, aiming to secure the qualification for Hickstead Arena Eventing National Championships, which will take place in May this year. Charlotte S, Ella O, Safia V and Lola O were on fantastic form to win the 70cm class! Charlotte finished 2nd individually, Lola was 4th individually and Ella 6th! The team therefore managed to secure qualification for the Championships, as well as Charlotte and Lola individually!

Sylvie F joined Charlotte, Ella and Lola from the 70cm class to make up a team in the 80cm. This was a big class and would require clear rounds in order to secure qualification. The riders and their horses did just that and finished in 2nd place. Congratulations to Charlotte S who also finished 2nd and therefore also qualifies individually.

The coming weekends continue to be busy, as the team focuses on dressage championship qualifiers and more arena eventing qualifiers to get more riders to Hickstead for the bigger classes!
