Indoor Athletics North Somerset District Finals at St Katherines School

We are all very proud of our indoor athletes this year with three teams qualifying for the finals and all performing brilliantly, showing once again that Sidcot School punches well above its weight in athletics.

The final results created a bit of drama, though:

  • Lower Fourth boys came 4th in front of local rivals Churchill School
  • Third Form girls came 3rd and only 5 points away from gaining a qualifying 2nd place.
  • The Lower Fourth girls drew in joint 2nd place (this was where the drama started) with Churchill School with an equal 74 points and with only one team being able to qualify for the Avon Finals, it had to go to a second count.
  • The second count meant that they would look at the performances head-to-head and the scores were eagerly awaited overnight. In the end the scores were 85-86 to... Churchill! The girls missing out by one point.

Like we said – amazing performance and amazingly proud of them all!
