We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic part-time Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages to teach German, with the ability to offer Spanish or French as a second subject. This is a fixed-term post for one year, between 40–60% FTE.

You will join a thriving and successful MFL department, where languages are highly valued and widely studied. The department offers courses at GCSE, A Level and IB, with strong uptake and a clear commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. There is a culture of collaboration, innovation, and a shared enthusiasm for languages and internationalism.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring classroom practitioner, able to engage and motivate students across a range of abilities. You will contribute to a department that promotes cultural understanding, curiosity, and confidence in communication, both within and beyond the classroom. The successful candidate will be committed to high standards of teaching and learning, have a strong subject knowledge and a passion for languages and will be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school and support its ethos. Ideally the successful candidate will:

  • Be able to teach German to A Level (and ideally IB) 
  • Offer Spanish or French to at least Key Stage 3/4 

Candidates must be prepared to work flexibly in terms of hours and days worked. The post represents a 40–60% contract (subject to variation according to timetabling needs and the skills and qualifications of the successful candidate).
