Minibus Officer

We are seeking to appoint a Minibus Officer to manage the school’s fleet of minibuses and Discovery. The school fleet comprises of twelve minibuses and a Discovery which are used for a wide range of school activities including morning and afternoon school bus services, sports fixtures, curricular/extra-curricular trips and boarding activities. It is important that the minibuses and Discovery are roadworthy and are in full working order during term time and that any faults are rectified promptly. You will need to ensure that the school vehicles are clean and tidy (internal and external). You will also be required to supervise the school’s fleet service company whilst on site regarding repair/service requirements and 10 weekly safety checks.  

During term time you will allocate trips to Minibus Drivers/Relief Cover Minibus Drivers. You will also be required to provide/arrange ad hoc cover to our regular minibus drivers to transport pupils to and from school when required. Any driving of the school minibuses will be paid at the enhanced minibus driver rate.

During holiday periods, you will need to ensure that all vehicles are ready for the beginning of term. This will be paid at an additional hourly rate.

A full clean driving licence with D1 category and minibus driving experience is required. You will also have experience of dealing with mechanical issues with the ability to problem solve along with excellent organisational and communication skills.

Hours per week: Duties will be significantly less out of term time and will be paid at an additional hourly rate. Additional hours will be required depending on operational demands and will be paid at an additional hourly rate.
