Chinese New Year

It was a great start to the Lunar New Year here at Sidcot with a special assembly marking the event. We had a tradition Chinese music from Linda Leng (Pathway) playing the Guqing. A Chinese Fan dance – Butterfly Lovers – by some of our Fifth Form students and a great introduction to the background of Chinese New year from our sixth Form student. It was great to see so many students get involved with the video at the end and attempting some Chinese phrases. You can see the amazing video students put together below.

Our students will also be performing at the Bristol Museum Chinese New Year weekend this Saturday (1st Feb) at around 11am, if you are around I am sure it will be a great event for friends and family to experience the festivities. There will be performances and workshops throughout the weekend.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a prosperous year of the Rat, good fortune and good health!
