We are really proud of our Indoor Athletes that have been selected for North Somerset and represented the School in the Avon Sports Hall Athletics Champs 2020. Dave Turner, organiser and visiting Athletics Coach, was really happy with the performances and commitment of our athletes and a couple really stood out!
Well done to the Sidcot athletes:
- Frankie Hillman-Jones – competed in the 2-lap race, and the shot put where she placed 6th
- Grace Ward – competed in the 4-lap race where she placed 6th and the vertical jump
- Lexy Buckland – competed in the 4-lap race where she placed 11th and the Standing Triple Jump
- Jack Ward – ran the 2-lap race and came 13th and competed in the vertical jump
- Joe Sandiford – ran in the 6-lap race and came 7th and competed in the vertical jump too
Our two qualifiers were:
- Oliver Thistlewood who came 1st in the Standing Long Jump and 2nd in the vertical jump
- George Leite put the Shot an amazing 12metres, 2.5m ahead of his nearest competitor, breaking the Championship Record in the process
I am always so proud of our athletes and how we really punch above our weight for a small school against such large secondary schools.
