Job Summary:  We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dedicated Library Assistant, working as part of a team to provide support in our libraries. The Library Assistant assists the Librarian in the day-to-day running of the senior and junior school libraries. Acting as a visible and approachable presence, the library staff help students and staff across the school community access the library resources and its services. The role also includes overseeing day-to-day operations such as issuing resources, preparing new materials for stock and shelving.

About You: We are looking for an excellent team player and communicator who has a passion for reading.  You must be enthusiastic about working with young people and supporting their learning.  You need to be prepared to work one in four Saturday mornings (term time only).

Start:  January 2025

Contract:  Permanent - term time only (including some inset days)

Hours:  8 hours per week on Thursdays (10:00 - 14:00) and Fridays (13:00 - 17:00) plus one Saturday morning per month (09:45 - 12:45) during term time.  A second Saturday morning per month in term time is also available.
