Year 11 Pathway students' progress in the Duke of Edinburgh Award

Year 11 Pathway students have always had the opportunity to join the award scheme and some have gone all the way through to Gold. This year, as an experiment, all of the 24 students have enrolled for the Bronze award. They have completed expedition training and this term have done the two expeditions. The first was in the Quantocks and last week the final expedition was in the local hills with routes starting near Blagdon Lake and climbing over the Mendips to camp at Longbottom Farm where the students enjoyed an evening campfire. They then dropped to Cheddar before crossing the levels to finish near Wedmore. All the groups completed the routes efficiently and were very positive about the experience.
