Year 10 Environmental Studies

As part of their environmental studies, Year 10 have been having a detailed tour of the School campus to judge its over all impact on the environment.

Over the next few weeks, students will be judging areas of the School on the following criteria:

  • Carbon Neutral
  • Waste Efficiency
  • Water Efficiency
  • Energy Efficiency

Rob Layton, Maintenance Manager, has so far shown students the biomass boiler, the main school building and the Sports Centre. At each site Mr Layton explains to the students about the impact that these areas are having on the environment. Once back in the classroom, students shall use GIS computer software to show their results, which will then be passed on to SAGE (Sidcot Action Group for the Environment). SAGE will then use these results as part of Sidcot School's Green Flag Award.
