Geographers in the Upper Fourth have started the year looking at resources. This group of U4 students drew in chalk as a resource and learnt how it was extracted and used and found out the possible impacts its use has on the environment.
The current programme of study is entitled 'What's the Use' and will get students to think about the issues related to the use of resources. They will study the impacts of over-fishing in the Indian Ocean, how diamonds are mined – and the impacts of these mines on the people – and consider their own use of resources and their future use.
