We welcomed Rizwan Ahmed in Assembly on Monday. Rizwan gave a fascinating talk about the Hajj to Mecca, the pilgrimage most Muslims undertake at least once in their lifetime. Whilst many of us had a basic understanding of this event, I think we were all amazed by the sheer scale of the mosque complex in Mecca and the variety of customs observed during the 5 day pilgrimage. It was wonderful to hear about the impact of the Hajj on a Muslim's faith, and we are so grateful to Rizwan for sharing his personal experiences.
Students thoroughly enjoyed Rizwan's talk and I have captured some of their reactions. Y7 are looking forward to meeting Rizwan again when we visit the mosque in Bristol next June.
