New Staff – September 2015

Claire Green – KS2 Teacher
Has taught at Winscombe Primary School since 2012 and currently teaches Year 5.  Is a PHSE and RE Co-ordinator, runs the School Enterprise Week and the KS2 Latin Club.  Eager to offer the junior Latin course ‘Minimus’ as an activity.

Leesa Sheppey – KS2 Teacher (P/T)
Has provided supply cover in the Junior School this term and works part time at St Paul’s Junior School, Shepton Mallet.  Plays the flute, oboe and recorder and is a qualified trampoline teacher.

Andrew Weston – Teacher of Mathematics
Has worked at Forest School, London since 2013 as a Teacher of Mathematics, Year 7 Maths Curriculum Co-ordinator, Year 11 Girls Tutor, U13B Football Coach and Mountain Biking Assistant Coach.

Matthew Curtis-Dyke – Head of Geography
Is Head of Geography, Senior Leader Associate, Teacher Governor and Sixth Form Tutor at Beaminster School, Dorset.  Is a PADI Advanced Diver and keen cyclist.

Steven Hart – Teacher of Physics
Completed his PGCE in August 2014 and has since worked at Crispin School as a Teacher of Science with a Physics specialism.  Has a BSc (Hons)  in Building Surveying and has ten years’ teaching experience as a Peripatetic Music Teacher (guitar and drums).

Rob Moore – PE Teacher
Graduate with a First Class Hons Degree in Sports Coaching and MA in Education.  Has been working as a PE specialist supply teacher in Somerset and Bristol schools.

Clare Storey – Learning Support Teacher
For the last three years has been teaching French and Spanish at Lingfield Notre Dame, Sussex in first the Senior, then the Junior School.  Relocated to Somerset this summer as husband is due to take up the post of Head of Classics at Downside School.

Ayesha Akkari – Resident Graduate Intern
From Northern Ireland and is currently studying Music at Bristol Uni. Is a keen horse rider and has previously owned horses.

Benjamin Burkes – Resident Graduate Intern
Currently completing a combined undergraduate and masters programme in sport and exercise science at Bath Uni.  Interests include: member of Bath Uni. Boxing Club; Reserve GB powerlifting squad member for the GBPF; Bassist for ‘Flipside Skin’; member of ‘Blue Monday Jazz Quartet’.

Jessica Phillips – Resident Graduate Intern (starting mid-September)
Completed a National Diploma in Performing Arts in 2014 and has since been working for Unite Group in Bristol.

Tamara Reed – Science Technician
Has worked at Hugh Sexey Middle School since 2013 as a Science Technician.  Also works as a Receptionist in a hair salon and will continue in this role whilst working at Sidcot. Mother of Jack Reed in Year 10.
