U13 North Somerset Rounders Tournament at Clevedon School, Tuesday 13th June

v Priory: won 6-5

v Hans Price: lost 4.5 - 5.5

v Churchill: won 10 - 4

v Clevedon: lost 4 - 6

The weather was super, the standard of rounders high; all was good!

This was a lovely afternoon of competitive rounders and our Lower Fourth girls played well in all their games.

There were some close results and at the end of the group games there were three teams on equal points in second place, all hoping to go through to the semi-finals.

A count up of rounders was required and, although Sidcot had beaten Priory, it was Priory that progressed through having scored two rounders more over the course of their four games. So close!

Both bating and fielding were of good standard and teamwork was good throughout the afternoon. Well done to all the squad.

It was pleasing to note that of 11 teams Sidcot was one of only two that lost to Priory – who were the eventual winners.

A lovely afternoon indeed.

U12 North Somerset Athletics Championships at Clevedon School 15th June

This was a super afternoon of athletics and our Third Form students certainly demonstrated how their skills, knowledge and competitive edge has developed over the course of the term. Fabulous.

All performed with determination and endeavour and very much worked for the team. There were some really ‘gutsy’ performances on the track from both boys and girls and those involved in field events also gave their all.

Team spirit, sportsmanship and behaviour were all spot on.

Results were not available prior to departure – there was still maths to be done, but, we discover, congratulations are in order. Both girls and boys finished 5th – a highly creditable feat indeed – once again, Sidcot punching above their weight amongst our cohort of 11 large, strong schools. Brilliant!

Super enthusiasm, super spirit, super afternoon.

Well done to all.
