Sport Relief 2016

Sports Relief Week 14 to 18 March

The last week of term saw a huge array of activities take place in aid of Sports Relief! There were various sporting events, such as the Crossbar Challenge and staff versus students football and netball. Unfortunately, the student team won on both occasions...

On Thursday we set up three spinning bikes in the Hub and the aim was to have at least one person on the bikes at any one time from 9am to 5pm! This was a difficult task to manage especially during lessons, but as usual Sidcot rose to the challenge and we raised over £100 just on this one event. Over 80 students got involved, but particular thanks must go to Ed Pemberton and Matt Williams who were repeatedly spotted pedalling away!

Finally, on Friday, it was great to see so many students dressed up in sports gear or their own clothes to raise even more money for such a worthy charity. The new Charity Office Holders also presented a fantastic assembly to let students know where their money was going and who would be helped. All in all a very successful week – a huge thank you to all those involved.
