On 25th and 26th January, Emily Mabbett attended the Welsh Alpine Ski Championships in Champery, Switzerland. Emily raced both in Grand Slalom and Slalom. The weather had been very mixed for training going from white out powder snow days to very warm and sunny days. Emily managed a third place in her category for the Grand Slalom and a second place for the Slalom after her two races. It was very tough for the U18 category as they were on full length Grand Slalom skis and going last when the course was at its most rutted and icy, so completing both runs was challenging enough!
Overall, Emily got first Welsh in the U18 which is a stunning result. Emily trains on dry slope every Tuesday evening and it is obvious that her hard work is paying off. All the girls from School House Girls are very proud of her amazing achievement and we wanted to congratulate her!
Da iawn Emily!
