This means in January we will be starting TED-Ed club, a program that supports students in discovering, exploring and presenting their big ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks. Club Members will be asked to try new things and stretch beyond their comfort zone.
Club Members will become experts in:
By the end of the cycle, each Club Member will have a filmed a TED-Ed that gets shown on the TED YouTube channel and some students may even get to go to New York and present their great idea there.
For those who have not yet come across TED…TED is a non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics – from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.
Sidcot students visit TED talks throughout year and have already visited TEDxYouth in Bath and will visit TEDxExeter in April.
