Sunday 5 February
Another three students have completed their induction flight as part of the Sidcot Flying School. The students taxied the Piper Arrow aircraft to the runway and took the plane into the air themselves. They each flew a circuit over Bristol, out into the Severn Estuary, over Portishead and Clevedon. They then banked the aircraft inland over Weston-super-Mare and over Sidcot School. Finally, they handed the controls back to Philip (former British Airways 777 Captain) for landing.
These flights are happening throughout the Summer Term every Sunday and Wednesday. It is hoped that some students will go on to fly for 15 hours and fly solo or even get their Private Pilots Licence.
