Area Eventing competition

Sidcot Equestrian Centre had another successful weekend with Lottie Gunter from Year 7 and her pony Toby competing in an Arena Eventing competition at Kings Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre. Arena Eventing involves a round of 8 show jumps followed by a further 8 cross-country fences. Lottie and Toby rode a beautiful  clear round over a tricky course in the 75cm class. The cross-country phase caught a lot of competitors out, but the pair were clear in a fast time which bagged them 2nd place.  Well done Lottie and Toby!

Young horse rider chosen for Leg Up For Talent media campaign

Talented horse rider Maisie Warren, from Year 7, has been chosen as the star of a Social Media Campaign for her equestrian talent. Masie, whose mother Jane is the Equestrian Centre Manager, is a mainstay of the school's equestrian team.

Maisie is rarely out of the placings: her achievements range from winning the Championships of Great Britain as part of a show jump team, and coming fourth overall individually, to winning numerous show jump competitions within Pony Club and winning the Area Dressage Competition for her age category this year.

In recognition of her talent and dedication Maisie has been chosen for the social media campaign called ‘LegUpForTalent’, that promotes the future stars of equestrianism. Maisie is one of only two riders in her age category to have been chosen from the South West. Now that she is part of the LegUpForTalent scheme Maisie is actively seeking sponsorship from local businesses to help further her equestrian ambitions.
