On Tuesday 21 March the 2017 annual Sidcot Swimming Gala took place in the Cullis Sports Centre and was a hotly contested affair.
Delivering a new format this year, the atmosphere provided a great support for the students as they displayed their new house tee-shirts.
The afternoon saw a complete mix of events from fun to competitive, all of which providing for some exciting races including dead heats and some historical records broken.
We were extremely pleased with each of the team captains for doing such a superb job in organising their teams.
A special mention needs to go to North House Junior Girls Lily Barker Whyatt, Erin Crofts and Lilia Fairley for their stamina and determination to compete in every event as they only had three team members – tremendous effort!
After a fantastic efforts by both individuals and teams during the races, it was all down to the results from the last two relay races which would determine the overall winner. For the first time, West House were proud winners and lifted the Sidcot House shield.
We’d like to thank all the parents for coming along and supporting the students so enthusiastically.
