Rubbish Rap

Year 7 have spent the last half term working on ‘Rap’ and the use of rhythm. The classes watched ‘Stomp’ for some ideas and then started to build a band out of sweet and biscuit tins, old plastic bottles and cardboard. The lyrics were written by the groups and then set to a fantastic beat which was performed on stage in the Meeting House for music assembly.

Below are the lyrics from each group.

Rubbish Rap Group One

Nobody likes all the litter and cans
So we should get it banned.
Those plastic bags and those horrid fags,
Covering all our land.

(Chorus 1)
Rubbish, rubbish, go away!
We don’t want your smell all day!
Rubbish, rubbish, go away!
We don’t want your smell to stay!

Listen up, Sidcot, we got something to say:
Using The Hub? Bin it today.
We need to stop all this pollution,
It’s easy to find a great solution.

(Chorus 2)
Rubbish, rubbish, go away!
We’re gonna keep your smell at bay.
Rubbish, rubbish, go away!
If you don’t stop, we’ll have to pay!

Rubbish Rap Group 2

People over there, what’s up?
People over here, what’s up?
You have to run a mile ‘cause it smells so vile
So people over there, what’s up?

You throw away your money -
Do you really find that funny?
Spending loads and loads,
Getting men to clear your roads.

People over there, what’s up?
People over here, what’s up?
You have to run a mile ‘cause it smells so vile
So people over there what’s up?

Wildlife is all dying
‘Cause you’re not really trying.
This is not very fair
So you need to show you care.

People over there, what’s up?
People over here, what’s up?
You have to run a mile ‘cause it smells so vile
So people over there what’s up?
