Pre-season Orientation Camp

Pre-season Orientation Camp

As we arrive at the end of term, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the support you have shown towards sport and physical activity this year.

Students and staff alike have risen to the challenges that come with having high expectations. I’m extremely pleased with the progress we’re making to develop a physically literate community through excellence in leadership and delivery. Our aspiration to promote life competencies through sport and physical activity is bearing the fruits which epitomises the values Sidcot holds so dearly. The Junior School are leading the way in embracing the changes we have made and we will continue to make throughout the Senior School.

Recent success include the employment of Laura Nesbit as Head Coach of Sidcot Swim Club, Dean Cornish as Head Coach of Sidcot Tennis and the recent appointment of Craig Figes as Head Coach of Sidcot Waterpolo.

For further information regarding any of these activities please email: sport@sidcot.org.uk

Due to the success of our previous Sidcot Pre-season Orientation Camp, it is my intention to run a similar event on Saturday 10 September.

It is important that in order for us to continue this exciting trajectory of development, any student whom has an aspiration of being part of a representative team during the next academic year should save the date to attend. An exciting development this year is we will be opening the camp up to Year 5 and 6 pupils.

Although all the details are yet to be finalised, the camp will feature:

  • Physical challenges
  • Mental agility
  • Sport specific sessions
  • Recreational swim

Also on Saturday 10 September we will take the opportunity to celebrate the completion of our all-weather training facilities with an official opening. Further details will be circulated closer to the start of next term.

Lastly, I wanted to make you aware that we have now appointed an Equine Consultant to oversee the development of the Sidcot Equestrian Centre. This is a six month tenure that will look at developing a short to medium term equine strategy for our School.

If the 2016 Pre Season Orientation Camp is something of interest to your child and they would like to attend please make your intentions known by contacting me at sport@sidcot.org.uk

Thank you for your time and with your support we look forward to working with your child again next year.

Yours sincerely
