The Lower Fifth Catering students visited St Nicholas Market in Bristol last Friday to see what exciting food was on offer from Bristol artisan caterers and retailers. It was Street Food Friday so the students had the opportunity to see a variety of dishes from beautifully decorated cakes to Vietnamese dumplings. We are really lucky Bristol to having such a wide range of creative independent food producers.
The students were given a fantastic talk by Joe from ‘Source’, a successful independent café/ shop using and selling local organic produce. They were shown meat and fish on sale and Joe explained how and why it is used.
The students, Robyn Stock, Harry Wayne, Alice Joiner, Lizzie Thompson, Imogen Moroney, Millie Ashdown and Archie Settle asked some terrific questions and were very engaged, great ambassadors for the school.
