This half term both J6 classes have visited the science department to do a chemistry investigation. They have enjoyed using apparatus including Bunsen burners, conical flasks, thermometers and measuring cylinders. The task has been to find out if magnesium reacts faster with hydrochloric acid if you heat the experiment and the young chemists had fun popping the hydrogen gas produced by the reaction. We look forward to teaching many of them in the Third Form next year and hope to build on the enthusiasm for science which has been developed in the Junior School.
