Thank you to so many of our wonderful international students for getting involved with International Week of Languages, and to many of you for coming along and supporting the events.
Monday lunchtime, The Hub was a bustling display of 15 languages being shared at the 'Language Café'.
Tuesday, our Year 9 classes participated in a Languages Quiz.
Wednesday, we had teams of Italian, Chinese, Russian, German and French students teaching the J1 and J2 classes. They were a real hit!
Thursday, our MFL staff came out of their comfort zones and taught their classes a different language for part of their lessons.
Friday, Third Form students tucked into a tasty continental breakfast with a twist – they had to order their food in Spanish and German! The event concluded with a table football match between Germany and Spain (video below), with students cheering on using authentic football language. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all and there was a real buzz in the air.
We hope the this week students have become even more internationally minded and are delighted that many boarding students have had the opportunity to share their language and culture with their students.
Many thanks again to those who got involved or supported us. We hope to make it even bigger and better next year!
