On Friday 6 May we celebrated our multi-national community with International Day. It was a casuals day and over £600 was raised towards the orphanages we support in Tanzania and Sierra Leone.
The morning assembly featured 28 nationalities, represented in the staff and student body, with representatives giving a greeting in their own languages.
The evening meal was popular with national flags decorating the Refectory and a menu which included sushi, pizza and ice cream.
The money collected will buy supplies which will be delivered to the Tanzanian orphanage by Sidcot students on this summer’s Tanzanian expedition.
Thanks to all involved in organising the day, with a particular mention to Stuart Brewin and the Catering staff, and the Lower Sixth students who were enthusiastic waiters and waitresses at the meal.
