IB Students Theory of Knowledge day in London

IB Students Theory of Knowledge day in London

Last Wednesday saw our first ever Theory of Knowledge (TOK) trip to London. All 34 IB students from L6 and U6 boarded a coach in the early morning and headed to the British Museum. Their first task was to complete a tricky TOK questionnaire on the theme 'What is art?', basing their answers on three of the current exhibitions: Islamic Art and Marriage in Iran: Indonesian Shadow Puppets and 'Money Matters'.

After lunch, we were received, by special invitation, at The New College of the Humanities, where students enjoyed a fascinating talk by Professor A.C. Grayling, entitled 'What is Knowledge?'. Professor Grayling held us spellbound for well over an hour with his captivating exploration of this complex theme. This was followed by a workshop on TOK by philosophy professor Dr David Mitchell. We all enjoyed a stimulating and thought-provoking day out and hope to repeat this next year.
