History Department Bake Off

Over 30 Third and Fourth Form students rose to the challenge of baking historically themed items by the history department's answer to Mary and Paul. The standard of entries was fantastic, spanning a diverse range of significant topics, covering around 5000 years of history; from Stonehenge to the Berlin Wall.

Entries were judged on taste and appearance in addition to a written piece about why the topic chosen was a significant part of history.

After much deliberation (and a time extension to taste all the entries!), it was decided that the Bourneville Village (Lilia Rawling and Lila Porter) and Remembrance cake (Evie Ward and Lilia Fairley) best met the brief. However, congratulations must go to all participants who lit up the contest with their effort, creativity and historical rigour.
