Year 7 students are now using all of their map skills learnt this half term to create a route card. Their routes are from Cheddar Gorge to Sidcot School. Students are expected to give six-figure grid references, distance and their expected timings using the contour lines to work out height gained. This exercise is not only good Geography but it should also prepare students for the popular Duke of Edinburgh expedition that start in Upper Fifth.

See what our students had to say about this exercise:

"It is fun but challenging."
Maisie Warren

"It is an interesting topic but it can get difficult at times to complete."
Lily Arnold

"It can be annoying working out the height climbed as the contour lines are so small on the map."
Linus Pomroy
