From The Art Department

Week Ending Friday 17 March

All Third Form and Lower Fourth artists have been involved in the creation of the play set for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in recent lessons. We started by looking at Pop Artists such as Andy Warhol and Claus Oldenberg, and more contemporary artists such as Nicola Freeman. Students then did some close up observational drawings of sweets – a fun lesson, as they got to eat the still life subject matter at the end of it! These drawings were traced onto acetate and then blown up to a very large size using an overhead projector, so that we could paint them in vibrant colours. A really fun project, with lots of hard work and cooperation.
