As the term draws to a close we shall be saying goodbye to our two trainee Art teachers, on placement from the University of the West of England (UWE). Terry Curtis (left) and Chris Saltmarsh (right) have done a grand job over the last couple of months, honing their own classroom skills, and adding their unique skill sets and perspective to the teaching of many of our students. We shall miss them, and wish them all the very best for their second placement.
We have decided that the deadline for the GCSE portfolio will be extended over the Christmas holiday, so that our fifth form artists can continue to work from where they currently are, rather than handing incomplete portfolios in, and working on a separate project. The new deadline for the portfolio will be their first lesson of the new term when we shall be collecting the portfolios in, and handing out the examination papers. So there is the possibility of lots more exciting art, photography, and artist research over the Christmas break – as a welcome creative break from revision for mock examinations perhaps?
