Over the past few weeks the Modern Languages Department and the Art Department worked together to organise a Flamenco workshop to take place at Sidcot. The day finally arrived last week and Years 8, 9, 10, 11 & SFF had the opportunity to learn some more about the origins of Flamenco dancing. They all experienced an excellent performance by Latido Flamenco; a band comprising of a singer, guitarist, drummer and a dancer. They then learned some of the important basics of Flamenco music and dancing: las palmas (clapping), el baile (dance) and cantar (singing).
All students seemed to have enjoyed this rich cultural activity, which was particularly interesting for students of Spanish.
