The Art Department was asked to decorate a series of oil drums to function as recycling bins for this year's Festival of Peace. Fourth Form students took a lead on this, working collaboratively to create these fantastic bins which are both functional and visually fitting for the festival mood! Students created their designs by spending time in the Peace Field where they observed the shapes, colours and pattern in this beautiful environment. Back in the Arts Centre they abstracted the drawings and photos they had collected to develop a series of stencils and masking designs. Students worked together fantastically during the spray paint process and produced some very dynamic results. We look forward to seeing the finished bins in situ at the Festival!
