Equestrian Update

Equestrian Update

It’s been a busy term for our Sidcot Equestrian students.

Firstly, I would like to say a very big well done to Luca Cookson who’s qualified for the RDA National Championships at Hartpury to be held in July. Luca was awarded two firsts: in his Grade 4 Dressage Canter test, and Countryside Challenge course – and was awarded The Cloudy Meredith Memorial Trophy (for highest score in the Midwest Regionals). This is a fantastic result for Luca so a big well done to you Luca, your dedication has been rightly rewarded.

Secondly, in other news, our Sidcot Show jumping team were out in force last weekend with wins in the 70cm, 80cm and 90cm classes. Well done to all the riders involved: Sophie Lee, Henry Blair, Archie Stamp, Erin Crofts and Harriet Blair. This success sets us up very nicely for one of the biggest events in the School's equine calendar.

The very best of Sidcot luck to our riders who are travelling to The All England Showground 'Hickstead' on Friday 25 May to compete in the National Arena Eventing Championships over the weekend. The horses and riders have worked extremely hard all year in the build up to this event and I know they will do both themselves and the School very proud on this National Stage. Best of luck Erin Croft, Sophie Lee, Lottie Gunter, Henry Blair, Evie Puddy, Archie Stamp, Harriet Blair and Elsa Cardale.

One person will be very sadly missed this weekend. Malcolm, we will all miss you and will be thinking of you in particular this weekend whilst we cheer on the team. Our continued thoughts and support go out to Penny and Lottie.
