On Friday 13 November, staff and students alike dressed up as their Childhood Heroes in aid of the well known charity, Children In Need. The effort that was put into some costumes was fantastic; my personal favourite being the Mr Men outfits worn by some of the Lower Fifth girls.
The Charity Office Holders put on many events throughout the day to raise even more money, including a Sixth Form auction which took part in morning assembly. This proved particularly popular with our Third Form students who donated more money than most! At break time we held a 'sponge the teachers' event, which saw nine members of staff get completely soaked as wet sponges were thrown at their faces. Myself included! Finally, a basketball match... with a twist... was held in the Sports Hall at lunch. Students had to play basketball whilst carrying another on his/her shoulders!
All events proved to be very enjoyable and we have raised over £700 so far! A grand total will be calculated next week as money is still being collected. Thank you all for your support to make these days a success.
