Capacity: 21 younger boys boarding
Combe House is located in Oakridge Lane in a traditional Somerset farm house. There are 21 beds, generally for younger boys.
"As the House is set away from the main campus, the boys get a sense of leaving school and returning home at the end of a busy day. There is a lovely garden where they can play football and enjoy barbecues. As one of the smaller boarding houses we can foster a family atmosphere in the House where all of the boys have a shared sense of responsibility for one another and can take on responsibilities to help the smooth running of the day."
"We have taken over at an exciting time for Combe which has seen great improvements over the summer including new shower rooms, furnishings and décor. We have a number of House staff and together we work hard to ensure the boys feel cared for. All the members of the team enjoy the rewards and challenges in working with young adults and we aim to create an environment that will be a home from home for the youngsters in our care."
“This year is my third year boarding at Sidcot. Before I came I wasn’t very worldly wise; since then I have learnt a lot of things and my confidence has skyrocketed. I have made really good friends both in the House and at school, and have become quite a sporty person. I hope to stay here for many years to come and if anyone tries boarding here at Sidcot, especially Combe House, it is great!”

“Combe has been my home for three years and I get a real sense of freedom. The changes over these few years have been enormous. Everyone in the House is close to one another and we help each other through everything, whether it be as simple as helping with prep to getting each other up in the morning (it sounds easy but really, it’s a difficult task!)”
