Meadowside: 8 older girls boarding
Meadowside is our ‘semi independent’ house for girls. In this semi-detached house on campus, eight Upper Sixth girls look after their own daily life, in preparation for university and life beyond school. A member of staff lives next door.
"My time in Sidcot has widened my understanding of community. Boarding in particular has made me aware of the wealth that different cultures hold. It has also made me aware of the importance of knowledge and understanding among other nationalities. Friendliness and fairness among others was an indispensable practice that everyone incorporated as self-evidence. Looking back on this period of time – my heart is always delighted when remembering unforgettable moments such as Christmas Dinner or collective outdoor activities. The staff always strived to support everyone by its individual necessities and personal backgrounds – SHG became a place of togetherness and a place to live for another."
Ricarda Spahlinger, boarder at School House Girls 2009–2011
