Sports
Physical Recreation is important for all students and in Years 12 and 13 we offer a wide choice of activities. Students have the option of playing a number of sports which include:
- Aerobics
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Football
- Hockey
- Multi Gym
- Netball
- Rounders
- Swimming
- Squash
- Table Tennis
- Tennis
- Volleyball
A Level students usually have a regular Physical Recreation period per week when they can participate in any of the above activities. IB students participate as part of CAS.
There is a comprehensive schedule of sporting activities run after school hours and these may include, as well as those listed above:
- Aerobics
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Cheerleading
- Dance Team
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
- Horse Riding
- Practices for Sports Judo
- Swim Training
If there is a demand for any new sport, it may be possible to set up an activity.
The school fields representative teams in the following sports in this age group:
- Basketball
- Cross-Country
- Football
- Hockey
- Netball
- Rounders
- Rugby
- Cricket
Athletes have the opportunity to represent the school in area trials, in track and field athletics and cross-country. If a student is selected for a school team, he/she is expected to attend all training sessions and fixtures. The students are allocated to a sporting House and they compete for their House in swimming and athletics.
