Governors
Role of our Governors
Sidcot’s governors are people from the school’s community who wish to make a positive contribution to our children’s development on an education and pastoral level. They have an important role in sustaining the financial viability of Sidcot and continuing its Quaker ethos. They also oversee our school standards through setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring and evaluating school performance. Governors serve for 4 years at a time and are elected due to a specific area of expertise that can be utilised to benefit the school. Just as the House of Lords oversee the Government; our governors have an objective, long term view of the school and provide direction to the School’s Senior Management Team.
Sidcot Governors
We currently have 13 dedicated volunteers on our Governing Board, 8 of whom are Quakers. The Board meets twice a term.
If you are interested in becoming a governor at Sidcot please contact Jill Hicks, Chair of Governance & Membership Committee who will be happy to explain the process and what is expected in more detail.
